Mehdy Rad, DMD, MS, is a widely respected and personable orthodontist at Rad Orthodontics, with locations in College Park, Potomac, and Bethesda, Maryland. He’s passionate about helping his patients achieve a beautiful, healthy, and straight smile, and walking alongside them throughout their treatment.
Education
Dr. Mehdy earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Massachusetts with a major in ethical philosophy and minors in biology and chemistry. He obtained his dental degree from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in Massachusetts, and he graduated on the Dean’s List. For his externship rotation, he practiced at the dental clinic on Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
Following his dental training, Dr. Mehdy attended a one-year residency in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry at Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts, where he was given an award for clinical excellence. He went on to specialize in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Boston University. While a student there, he was accorded the prestigious position of chief resident.
Professional Associations and Continuing Education
Dr. Mehdy stays dedicated to his passion for knowledge in his field by participating in continuing education. He serves as an associate clinical professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. In addition, Dr. Mehdy lectures locally and nationally on a broad range of topics related to orthodontics. He also maintains memberships with the American Dental Association and the Greater Washington Orthodontic Society.
Outside the Office
Dr. Mehdy lives with his wife and daughter in Potomac, Maryland, where he enjoys spending as much quality time with his family as possible, sharing smiles, and creating happy memories. In his spare time, he enjoys kiteboarding, snowboarding, bicycle racing, soccer, and playing guitar.
