David Rad, DMD, MS, is a highly attentive orthodontist that gives his patients a superior level of care at Rad Orthodontics, with locations in College Park, Potomac, Germantown, and Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Dave attended Boston University in Massachusetts for his undergraduate degree, graduating with honors in economics. He then went to Boston University School of Dental Medicine in Massachusetts, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine magna cum laude. He was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society for excellence in academic achievement, and he also received a certificate of excellence from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology for his outstanding academic achievements in the field of oral pathology.
Dr. Dave obtained a Master of Science in Oral Biology and Periodontics and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics from Boston University Dental School in Massachusetts. Notably, he served as chief resident during his clinical residency and also performed extensive research in bone biology and metabolism during his postgraduate training.
In 2012, Dr. Dave and his brother, Dr. Mehdy, were recognized as Super Elite Invisalign® Providers, which placed them in the top 1% of Invisalign® providers in the world. He also lectures locally about Invisalign® and other advances in orthodontic treatment. He enjoys staying at the forefront of dental progress to offer the highest level of care to his patients.
Dr. Dave is highly active in local dental groups and study clubs. He also maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, Maryland State Society of Orthodontics, and Southern Maryland Dental Society.
Dr. Dave lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife, Kimmy, and their 2 sons, Johnny and Henry. When he is not chasing around his boys, Dr. Dave enjoys skiing, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

I had the pleasure of getting my braces done by Dr. Rad (the original and older brother), and I honestly cannot say enough great things about my experience. I recently started treatment at Rad Orthodontist, and my experience has been excellent so far. Dr Rad was very knowledgeable and helpful. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional, and they took the time to explain everything clearly before I got my braces. The office is clean and organized, and appointments have been efficient. Getting braces can be nerve-racking, but the team made me feel comfortable throughout the process. I appreciate their attention to detail and how they answered all of my questions. I would recommend Rad Orthodontist to anyone looking for quality orthodontic care. I am so excited to see the results!
I got my appointment in August 2024, started my treatment end of September for 19 months. I am satisfied with the result! As an adult, I had a little space between my 2 front teeth and he fixed it! Dr David Rad was really patient with me with all my questions! I did not expect it but they still follow you after the treatment. It hurts but it worth it! I regretted not doing it before because it's more complicated as an adult but at least now I have a new smile and everyone around me are like "Wow!" :).
